... From Tony Chetham:- 'This is a fascinating piece of Australian aviation ephemera because it combines three separate contemporary items into one humorous magazine page:

    • The poem A Plane with No Beer

    • A genuine newspaper clipping

    • A topical cartoon

Together they document a short-lived but much-publicised event aboard Qantas in the late 1970s.

The small clipping in the upper-right is genuine.

Its headline reads:

DUTY-FREE DRINK BAN BY QANTAS

The story reports that Qantas suspended duty-free liquor sales after a 24-hour strike by flight attendants.
