PETE WILD ...

I know we usually leave these sorts of reports to Dee Passon's Angel Fleet. but, for those LHR crew who forged close friendships with our MT driving staff, the news that Pete Wild has passed, has been just as much of a shock as 'one of our own'.
Pete (apart from having a perfectly awful sense of humour) was just the sort of bloke who'd turn the bus round on a five-pence piece if one of the crew had left something on the aircraft.
Personally, I came to value him very much as a friend in our local village of Bagshot in Surrey... and I particularly remember him telling his new employers at a local garden centre to get stuffed on his first day of employment after BA.
All in all, the sort of man I looked up to and truly valued - both as a friend and a simple human being.
Sleep well ratbag!
... and one of the most emotive photos I've seen in recent times, a piccie of Pete's daughter Laura holding her dad's hand near the end, surely epitomises and encompasses us all:-
