From a passenger:- 'Dear BA Crew, There has been a lot of press and social media coverage of the difficulties within BA and the personal struggles of many crew. I know from experience that whichever side you are on, dealing with redundancy is a terrible time but more so for those losing their jobs as you are left feeling betrayed, let down and undervalued. I realise that nothing I say will change the feelings towards your employer but I couldn’t let the opportunity pass without sending you all an expression of enormous gratitude from a passenger’s point of view. I know that you have been there “primarily for our safety” but please don’t underestimate the positive impact you have had on the experience of your passengers and particularly those of us who are frequent fliers. I have had the pleasure of boarding planes very regularly for over 10 years and almost exclusively with BA. The reason is simple – the people – you’re the best! So to all of you, whether you are leaving or staying, I say a massive THANK YOU! I would look forward to boarding and being greeted by a friendly smiling crew, many of whom I would recognise and it saddens me to think that I may never see or hear from you again. I have enjoyed many hours of banter and great humour in my familiar back seat and will miss you greatly. I wish you all health, happiness and success in whatever you decide to do next.
