SANDFORD SPRINGS HOTEL & GOLF CLUB, Kingsclere, Tadley RG26 5RT. -------------------------------------------------- As always, if you're on our database, you should have received an email confirmation of this day, but please bear in mind that these notifications are only for you to make a note in your diaries. At this stage, there's no need to respond in any way, shape, or form. As soon as we've finalised the details for the day, we'll let you know how much and where to send your dosh. Bookings will ONLY be confirmed as and when the money arrives in our account. The only major change to the usual Sandford offering is that, due to a change in the golf club rules, visitors will only be allowed on the course from 1130hrs. onwards. This obviously precludes us offering a round of golf as a bolt-on to the Reunion itself, but, if you would like to arrange a round beforehand, please do this yourselves with this booking form link:- https://www.sandfordsprings.co.uk/golf/book . We've had more than a few comments that the hotel at Sandford has now reached capacity - and any rooms that were left were being charged at £125 or so - as opposed to the early booking price of £89/£99. It seems that the hotel uses the same sort of computerised system as BA does, inasmuch that it works out the costs of an event/(flight) and then how much it should charge to cover those costs and the profit they need from it. Then - as a "get 'em in" - they offer and introductory price which gradually increases up to the date of the event/(flight). Apparently, this is more-or-less standard practice now and shouldn't be taken as a personal affront. :-( Anyway, given that we are where we are, I'm going to update the list of local accommodation we've used before and will publish it on here soonest. Having chatted with Sandford Springs, they suggest we first look very locally at the village of Kingsclere and then, as before again, at the nearest towns of Basingstoke and/or Newbury. You may remember that we also lay on minibus departures at the end of the reunion to the stations / hotels in both the latter if ordered in advance.
