BA SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES ...
" ...Most of us use social media in our personal or work lives – so we’ve launched a set of guidelines to ensure your content doesn’t cause harm to any individuals, or the company as a whole. Our new guidelines are clear and easy to understand, and cover both external social media - including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and Facebook – and our internal networks such as Yammer. All of us at BA are expected to follow them. We’ll share a few key points from the new guidelines in this short article but it’s your responsibility to read them in full
(if anyone wants a personal copy of the whole article, let us know on 'admin@crewsocioal.org).
. • When using internal social media like Yammer, you do so as an employee and a colleague, so we’d ask you to show respect to your employer and colleagues at all times.
• Ask yourself if Yammer is the right place for your conversation – or would an email or face-to-face conversation be better?
• Please bear in mind that what you share internally can end up being shared outside BA – and you’ll still be responsible for your post.
Drew McMillan, BA's Head of Colleague Communication and Engagement, said: “We’re a great supporter of the benefits that social media brings. Yammer, for example, has transformed the way we talk with one another. And we love when colleagues are great advocates of BA on Twitter and Facebook. "But, as everyone knows, social media comes with some risks and it’s essential that all colleagues are aware of these and how to conduct themselves in the right way. This is about safeguarding ourselves as individuals as much as it is about protecting our brand reputation.”
