As I head off to Waterside for a meeting this morning, I've notified French Bros. that we now have 50 of you for next Thursday... and a lot of thinking for the future to do as a result!
Still waiting for a decision from the usual technophobes(!)- Bob Cutting, Glynis Humphries and Malcolm Williams... but French's have now given us until tomorrow to notify an absolutely final figure - after which yer dosh 'as gorn!
So, going well - all things considered - but back after lunch to formulate everything....

I think personally that French Bros have been purely brilliant in not only fitting us in next Thursday, but tailor-making a day which I suspect may turn out to be even better than the ones we enjoyed at The Boatman. Time will tell.....
BUT this is the last day to either cancel or adjust your booking with our account.
SO:- if you've paid us £39 already, there's no need to pay any more (and Rory may actually stand you a glass of squash to make up the difference!)
CONVERSELY, if you've paid us £22 for the previous 'Reunion only', please pay the outstanding £15 today if you can...

We have to confirm the final figure to French's tomorrow morning at the latest... Our apologies that it's all so much of a last-minute change-about - but as you know, circumstances have forced it on us.

IT'S BACK ON!
It's all back on as planned next week ... but 'on' the river instead of 'by' it this time.
French Brothers have saved the day for us by giving us a four-hour boat trip complete with pay-bar and finger buffet for just about the same price as were paying for The Boatman's buffet plus the original boat trip.
The boat will depart from the French Bros. terminal (opposite Browns Bar/Restaurant) at Windsor Promenade, Barry Avenue, Windsor, Berkshire (nearest postcode: SL41QX) at 1330hrs.
There's a full pay-bar on the boat, a finger buffet will be served... and the sailing time will be increased from two to four hours.
And, as the lady at French's pointed out, if you lot are still in the mood after all that, it's only a stagger across the road into Browns to finish the evening!
All for the same price (well, two quid cheaper actually - which we'll put in the kitty unless anyone wants it in cash).
In closing, it may well be that some of you would rather decline this change in the itinerary - in which case, please let me know absolutely a.s.a.p. at 'crewsocial@yahoo.com' along with your bank details and I'll sort refunds when I've sobered up!!!
Obviously, time is of the essence here due to the circumstances because we have to notify numbers and pay French Bros over the next day or so...

LATEST UPDATE:-
We were unwilling to accept the almost-blackmailing attempt by The Boatman management to levy a non-returnable £2k 'hire fee' on top of our normal agreement for a 10% deposit per-person charge which was deducted from the final total... but which would have doubled your charge to just about double that which you have paid already....
On that basis, we have cancelled both next week's booking with them and our ongoing reunion bookings for this year.
Obviously, this left us with the quandary of where to relocate next Thursday's reunion.
However, we are (hopefully) extending our booking with French Brothers for their earlier boat trip on the day to include a finger buffet and pay bar (the same as we were getting at The Boatman), getting us back to the jetty opposite Browns at around 1530.
This then leaves the more committed alcoholics amongst us to leg it across the road to Browns bar to continue the festivities until whenever.
Either way, rest-assured that we will put the best alternative package in place for the same day and at the same price... and adjustments/ cancellations will be dealt with a.s.a.p. after I've sobered up!
