This from Amanda Pepper:- Have just looked at the departed list in the Telegraph and see that Sylvia Haynes has died aged 92 on the 4th January “Star girl for BSAA, BOAC and BA”. Did you ever meet her? Her actual nickname was Starbottom. She was frightfully posh, stood for no nonsense from crew and passengers and was renowned in the BOAC days for being kind to us “babies” if we needed help...."

I’ve been asked to pass on the following by Sylvia’s family ......
I understand that many tributes have started to come in for her and I wondered if you could pass the details of her funeral on to your members, please. It is on Friday 18th January at St. Leonards Church, Thorpe Langton, Market Harborough, Leics. at 12.30 p.m. The funeral directors website address is www.jstampandsons.co.uk and there are donations in her memory to the above church which can be made on memorygiving.com and you just have to type in her name. My wife Helen and I are putting a eulogy together for Sylvia and some stories/memories would be appreciated please,if possible.
