Those of you that remember Bob Redmond will be sad to hear that he has, for the past few months been treated for a brain tumour.

I'm very sorry to say that the prognosis is not good. He is still in fairly good spirits and is presently at the Royal Berks Hospital in Reading. I'm sure that he would be pleased to hear from his old flying mates

Hi John!   Thanks also for posting that sad news.   Bearing in mind he was in the 'paras',  I remember out for the day with him in Sausalito, we were walking along the road when he suddenly grabbed my arm when a bunch of seagulls and pidgeons landed in front of us.   It seems he's terrified of them.    I live in Seaford so won't be able to get over there.    I'd appriciate you keeping me posted.    Cheers Joe.

Sorry John I think I got the wrong Bob!   Is it the Bob who ran a 'travel service' from home?   If so I apologise but give my regards and best wishes anyway!

Hi John,

So sorry to hear this news. Would you be so kind as to pass my best wishes to Bob. I'm not in the UK so can't visit him. I last saw Bob in Bangkok about 5 years years ago on my way back from a trip to China and Malaysia. We'd arranged to meet up and had 4 or 5 great days socialising with a pal of his who lives there. Bob would party all night with his mates and then sleep all day so it was very much a night time reunion when we got together, even though we stayed in the same hotel. I'm saddened to hear this news because Bob seemed the perennial youngster and just never changed.
